The TC Electronics BH250 is an excellent sounding bass head feeding up to 250W of clean solid-state amplification into a 4 Ohm speaker (not included - this is the bass head only). Bass Middle and Treble eq knobs are supplemented by the "Tone Print" feature, which lets you dial in a built-in effect, which you can change by downloading custom setting for that knob, from a number of available options. The unit comes with a TonePrint knob set to a sort of loudness function. Other highly desirable feature that I have found useful include a built in, very visible LED bass tuner, and the flexibility of output modes, which allow you to use this as a pre-amp with a PA or sound board for performance or recording purposes.

I have used this amp lightly as a backup to my bass combo amp, and it performs wonderfully with a big round driving bass tone through my 15 speaker. I have also used with guitar and other instruments with good results.
